We're an indie game company with a focus on making story-driven games and have a passion for historical events and cultural diversity.
Founded in 2013 by Roy van der Schilden, Bart Heijltjes, Aïda de Ridder and Remko Haagsma; Wispfire was set up as a small indie developer aimed at making story-driven games with a passion for historical events and cultural diversity. Our philosophy at Wispfire is that games enable you to explore a situation from a different vantage point, to reassess the familiar with new eyes, or to discover patterns of thought that you may not have noticed before. By providing agency, games create empathy and increase understanding.Present Day
Wispfire is currently based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. As part of the incubation program of the Dutch Game Garden we hold office among other Dutch indies such as Vlambeer and Abbey Games. Since March 2014 we've been busy developing our first commercial title, Herald. A choice-driven adventure game for PC, Mac and Linux inspired by 19th century history.
